About Me

Counseling is not about fixing you because are not broken. Counseling is about self-discovery and learning to use your strengths to help you get where you want to be. The first step toward getting somewhere different is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

I am a licensed counselor with over 20 years of experience as a counselor working with individuals struggling with issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, career concerns, relationship, parenting and LGBT issues. I have also helped many adult survivors of past abuse learn to overcome some of the long term affects of past experiences.

My counseling approach is that I'm down to earth, respectful, supportive, and non judgmental. I believe in accepting a person at where they are in life and exploring where they want to be and how they can get there. We can do this by identifying and maximizing the strengths you have now. I know that every individual is unique and there is not a "one mold fits all" approach to counseling so our treatment plan will be tailored to your unique needs and goals, one step at a time, at a pace you are comfortable with.

It takes more courage to ask for help than it is to go it alone. I'm looking forward to working with you and I'm glad you have taken the first step to make the positive changes in your life that you are wanting.

Really good help to get here with Lisa and I strongly recommend anyone with something on their mind to share them with Lisa. This is probably the easiest way to get help and just this month with Lisa made me a new person. :)

Lisa was great at working on the issues I needed to discuss at first contact, and through further conversation was able to give me advice on things that needed further development or help that could be long lasting and not just short term. I felt comfortable pretty quickly through our non-judgemental discussions, and she was always willing to speak about things that had been bothering me, replying with friendly messages. It has definitely been a positive experience.

Lisa is a great counselor! She gives me practical exercises to do during the week to help my self development. She is very prompt in her replies and gives sound recommendations.

Lisa is a great counselor. She helped me a lot when I was in a depression. With her help, I regained motivation, self-confidence, and control over my actions. Thank you for that.

Lisa Patterson has a way of communicating that takes stress right off your shoulders. I am currently going through a divorce and have had several traumas in my life. She helped me work through several of my thought patterns in a way that showed me the way I think about things can add a lot of stress to my life. She helped me forgive myself and move on from the pattern of self doubt and worry that I was so clearly holding on to. She also helped with giving me solid advice on how to work with my young child on behavior issues that I am experiencing with him. You won't regret seeking help, and she is an invaluable asset to anyone seeking help and guidance.

Lisa is very great! I haven't even talked to her for too long, and I already feel like I have a better understanding to the problems I'm having. Lisa is very sweet, understanding, and very helpful! She will listen to what you have to say, and give you honest feedback and great advice. Very glad I was matched with Lisa!

Lisa is a very kind , patient and caring person. I wasn't sure if a counselor that I had never even met, could possibly help me. Well, that is just one of the things that I have learned wasn't true since I have been working with Lisa. For me, Lisa is not only able to share, but she will even provide suggestions on where to go for more information. For me, working with Lisa and having the ability to continue to grow based on her suggestions has allowed me to get through one of the hardest times in my entire life. I'm thankful I was matched with her.

Lisa has been a great insight and sounding board for my struggles. She reminds and reassures, without force or judgment. Working with Lisa on BetterHelp has really been like having help in your back pocket. She responds quickly, never pretends to know you better than you know yourself, and keeps you digging deeper into your own remedy with great guidance and understanding.
