About Me
"The lost home that we are seeking is ourselves; It is the story we carry within our soul." -Michael Meade
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington who holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. I have over 20 years experience in the field and have worked with various peoples at agencies, hospitals, schools, shelters and residential facilities. I am a strength-based, Person-Centered and psychodynamic psychologist who uses creative arts, narrative and didactic approaches to help you connect and express what is most important to you.
I see therapy as a gateway to strengthening our authentic self through healing, learning, acceptance and growth. It is often through our self-proclaimed imperfections that we find the greatest gifts, insights and points of focus that help us understand and become clear about the path we are walking and the possibilities that are before us. We have all known suffering, loss, trauma and despair. These experiences may shape us but they do not have to define us.
You've taken a huge step in just coming here. If you are ready to start the process of self-discovery then I am here to support you.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Lisa Roth. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
In my two sessions so far with Dr. Roth, I have been given practical, doable strategies for handling problematic issues I've brought up. She's been a great listener and I'm hopeful I can be myself with her in our future work together.
I accidentally marked disagree to something. Sorry about that. Dr. Roth has changed my life. I am so grateful for her. She is amazing.
My initial review was early in seeing her and now working with her for a few months seems like a disservice. She deserves a better review.
Dr. Roth isn't just kind, and supportive, but is one of the most exemplary examples of human compassion I have ever met.
I feel at ease and like I can truly trust her. This isn't something someone with my experiences can say easily.
I don't feel that I am simply working through issues with her, but I am legitimately on a transformative, healing journey and she is the tour guide... or at least the navigator in the passenger seat to send gentle reminders if I start to stray off course.
I used to dread the idea of going to therapy again, but our sessions are one of the things I look forward to the most each week.
If and when the day comes that if she were to ever chose to retire, it would be a deep loss for the world of psychology. I would eat Ramen noodles for every meal to keep her as my therapist. She's amazing.
"Thank you," is simply not enough to express my gratitude.
Therapy with Dr. Roth was truly the missing piece to my journey of achieving self-discovery and personal growth. I have never felt judged. She listens with open ears, validates my experiences and emotions, and is able to give such powerful perspectives to any situation I bring up with her. She has helped me find ways to soothe my anxiety and improve the way I communicate both with myself and my partner, improving my self-love and relationship. Even if I don't have anything super pressing to discuss, our weekly sessions are always something I look forward to and help ground me. It's extremely helpful to have someone to keep me accountable for my growth but won't think less of me if I slip up or don't follow through. Thank you, Dr. Roth!
Not many people can catch me off guard with their insight, but Dr. Roth is very good at making me consider things I haven’t thought of. She’s been helping me see new interesting perspectives I may have not considered before in a way that challenges me but doesn’t push me beyond where I am ready to go. I have never felt judged or interrogated. She keeps the sessions and chats friendly, low pressure, and genuinely helpful. Thank you Dr. Roth!
Receiving counseling this way is new for me. I feel like Dr. Roth is helping me take steps. I enjoy the sessions.
Dr Roth is the missing piece to healing. She is very kind, helpful, strong, compassionate, and knows her stuff!!!! I look forward to our sessions each week and feel progress after each meeting.
