About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado.
If you are going through a challenging time, or need help taking steps to create a more fulfilled life, I would be honored to work with you. During the last 15 years I have been working with individuals and couples as a coach, mentor, yoga teacher, and psychotherapist. I do this work because I am passionate about supporting people in creating lasting positive change, and in living more fulfilled and authentic lives.

Over the years I have gained experience in working with a wide range of issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety, mid-life crisis, co-dependency, addiction, illness, chronic pain, spirituality, body image issues, grief & loss, sleep disorders, parenting, divorce, job performance/career, and identifying life purpose.

My counseling style is intuitive, compassionate, and curious. I believe that the foundation for doing good work in therapy is to create a space of non-judgment and presence in which all experience is welcome; where clients feel safe enough to share honestly and vulnerably. I feel that the issues that cause suffering are doorways to transformation, and it’s not very useful to pathologize or judge them.

Every person is unique and possesses within them the answers they seek, but since we all have blind spots it’s not always easy to access our own inner wisdom and guidance. My job is to ask questions, stay curious, offer pointers, and be a guide as we explore the inner terrain together.

Here’s an idea of what therapy might be like with me:

First we take a good look at what is going on for you, and depending on the situation then come up with a plan tailored specifically for you, based on your individual situation. Sometimes clients need a place of refuge just to be as they are, especially when there is loss or grief; but more often than not, clients are seeking to actively to feel better, create change, and explore the issues that are keeping them stuck. So we begin by setting clear intentions and goals based on what truly matters to you.

Cultivating a positive and loving relationship to self - identifying strengths, building self-esteem, establishing self care routines – is integral to the process.
And then there’s the honest self-inquiry. What might be blocking you from living a life that is more congruent with your deepest aspirations? This process involves shining the light on self-negating thought patterns, unhealthy belief systems, and unresolved trauma, as well as allowing a space for unexpressed emotions to be felt.

Some of the modalities that influence my work are Body Centered Psychotherapy, Mindfulness practices, Positive Psychology, Transpersonal Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Inner Child Work, Processwork, and Family Constellation work. I am also trained in EMDR.

I often utilize body-centered therapy (when appropriate), because I find that it’s a more direct way to access the unconscious patterns driving unwanted behaviors. It’s also a very effective way to work with resolving anxiety and trauma. The mind and the body are intimately connected.

Thanks for reading my profile, I look forward to working with you!

She has been very straightforward in giving her professional opinions. I never feel like I am not being heard and I can ask her questions to make sure I am on the same page.
