Lisa Velasquez, LMFT
About me
I am a marriage and family therapist and have been licensed in the state of Colorado since 1993. My counseling experiences include working in an elementary school setting for 26 years, meeting with families in their homes as a family preservation specialist, and currently working in private practice. I specialize in the areas of depression, anxiety, and trauma, including domestic violence.
My style is “laid back” and “down-to-earth,” and my calm demeanor follows me everywhere I go. I believe that each and every person deserves to be celebrated and valued!
My main therapy modality is Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, focusing on assisting clients in reframing their defeating thoughts, focusing on what they have accomplished, rather than what they haven’t done. My goal is for every client to feel heard and to help them to see their strengths and ability to cope. Most important is that they feel a non-judgmental approach!
