I'm Lissette! I am a Licensed Social Worker in the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts. I have been working in the mental health field since 2007. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since April 2013. I have been with Betterhelp.com since December 2019. Delivering therapeutic services via Betterhelp.com is different. I have been successful with issues related to: trauma, social/relationship issues, assistance with life transitions, enhancement of social life, stress reduction, LGBTQ issues, alleviation of mild-moderate symptoms of depression and anxiety.
There is such a thing as too much anxiety and feeling too depressed. Since I have a great deal of experience working in different settings (community, group home level of care, psychiatric intake, inpatient psychiatric unit and behavioral health that is integrated into the primary care setting), I clinically look at things differently. I will recommend you speak with a physician if I feel your symptoms are too severe. There is a lower threshold for being able to work through extremely difficult symptoms completely online.
I utilize methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (CBT-MI), which I have found to be amenable to many situations. I enjoy empowering my clients by exploring negative thought patterns/behaviors and finding ways to minimize/eliminate them. I tend to have a high energy level and enjoy utilizing humor, when appropriate. There is no script that I use. I am not rigid in my thinking or practice. I can be a great cheerleader or I can be someone that will tell you what you need to hear, when you need to hear it.
Whether one might be feeling lonely, sad, confused, anxious, whatever that reason is, let's discuss this.
Please note, the purpose of therapy is to not need therapy. I want you to definitely feel better and/or accomplish your personal goals!
I welcome those seeking brief, problem focused treatment.

Lissette is the therapist who has me going to everyone I know and love and telling them to go to therapy ASAP! She has helped me find clarity and re-frame my anxiety and depression with more kindness, humor, understanding, and acceptance than I could have ever hoped for. She is a gift and I have her to thank for my success.
Lissette has been a godsend. She really takes the time to see and understand what you need, gives great feedback and makes you aware. Lissette’s personality makes her very inviting. She makes me want to be honest and a open book. Which I have struggled in the past with other therapist.
I'm grateful that I switched to Lissette at the time I did. She's an active listener that offers good feedback and effective tools for coping.
This person is excellent. Great listener and is compassionate. I was able to share a lot of things with Lissette and I feel like I made a lot of progress emotionally. I recommend her 100%.
I immediately felt comfortable talking openly to Lissette. That made the work easier. She listens well, remembers everything and is encouraging, positive, and makes me look forward to therapy, and makes me show up at times when I dread it. She helps me to bravely confront my past without judgement or shame. The space she holds, despite my mood or needs, is sacred, and consistent and reliable. Her willingness to meet me where I’m at, support me through uncertainty, and answer my endless questions, (which , it’s important to note I’m always shocked at how diligent she is about providing me resources when I ask for them, how quickly she gets back to me, it’s outstanding truly.
She’s the best
Lisette is so knowledgeable and professional. She really knows what she's doing. It's been hard for me to find a therapist that fit's right for me and she instantly was a great fit. I'd definitely recommend her.
