About me
I am a therapist licensed in Wisconsin and Rhode Island, currently located in Rhode Island, with 4 years of counseling experiencing in various levels of care from Residential treatment for Eating Disorders to partial hospitalization programs and outpatient therapy for Eating disorders, OCD, and anxiety. I completed my graduate studies in Chicago at Adler University with a specialization in Sport and Health Psychology. With this specialty, I work with competitive and non-competitive athletes hoping to improve on their mental and physical performance, as well as individuals hoping to improve or change their relationship with food, exercise, and overall wellness.
I would describe my therapeutic style as laid-back, honest and understanding, with a good sense of humor.
Many of my clients are struggling with anxiety, overwhelming thoughts and emotions, disordered eating, and trying to find control and comfort in their lives. This "out-of-control" feeling is not uncommon for many but for some it is debilitating, so much so, it takes them off their valued path and leaves them feeling more uncertain. Most of my clients come to me with goals of wanting to find more security, balance, and ease in order to manage life's uncertainties and feel successful. My number one goal for my clients is to find their "flow:" functioning in life at optimal wellness. I help individuals achieve "flow" through mindfulness and emotion based therapies as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which focuses on living life mindfully based on values. I combine these modalities with yoga concepts to increase mind-body connection and overall awareness to point clients toward the life they want to live.
It takes a great deal of strength and vulnerability to open up in a therapeutic space, with that being said, thank you in advance for taking this first step towards your holistic wellness. It would be my honor to walk alongside you on this journey.
