Hello, and welcome to my profile. Read on to learn about my qualifications, credentials, experience, and approach to therapy to help you with the process of choosing a professional therapist.
My name is Lois Lambert. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. I attended graduate school and earned my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, located in beautiful, sunny, Malibu, California. A full-time student, I also worked 48-hours a week as a residential counselor, completed an internship, and managed graduate teaching assistantship responsibilities, all on a limited income, and absent family support. During that time, my automobile was stolen twice and I was shaken by an earthquake. While I have encountered many more and greater adversities since that time, I share those few to convey that I have considerable experience effectively handling intense pressure and stress, and it is my position that with sufficient motivation, perseverance, and endurance, obstacles can be overcome and dreams achieved!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Alabama with 20+ years of experience providing individual, family, and group therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. I also hold national certification as a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Knowledgeable and proficient in treating a wide range of problems, I am known for my expertise in trauma treatment, child and adolescent disorders, mood, and anxiety disorders across the lifespan. I have worked with individuals and families who have endured traumatic experiences, ranging from automobile accidents, sudden violent deaths, shootings, and dog bites to rape and childhood abuse, and all have reported significant improvements.
Over the past 2 years, I have had the great privilege and delight to provide Virtual Therapy to people from 23 countries around the globe! I am so impressed by the courage of those who reach out, Daring Greatly as they allow their vulnerability to show. And even more so, I am thrilled to see the resulting growth, strength, and happiness that they take into their future!
As a person who also has a great interest in brain science, I have spent considerable time and research learning how to optimize its function over the course of a lifetime, and I integrate this knowledge into therapeutic interventions to greatly enhance effectiveness.
It is important to realize that good and effective therapy requires compassion for humanity, science, art, and skill, and this emerges as a therapist progressively understands the complexity of the human mind and condition which is the result of biology, heredity, learning, social environment, and millions of interactions amongst all of these things over the course of a lifetime.
My therapeutic approach is informed by science, art, knowledge, and experience.
I strive to help people define and realize their dreams, to see obstacles as opportunities for creating a great life story, and to encourage growth, learning, and prosperity.

I came on this site while on a deployment because life and its stressors were becoming such a challenge to deal with. I started with one therapist and ended up switching to Lois. She has been such a wonderful help and taught me how to change the way to look at situations and process the things I cannot change. She helped me overcome my tendency to overthink/over analyze and gave me the tools I will use for a lifetime. Her kindness and listening abilities are unmatched! I cannot recommend her enough!

I came to therapy feeling desperate for help, scared, and unsure of where to begin. Lois listened and helped unravel the thoughts that had been tangled in my head for years. She helped me see how little compassion I had for myself, and encouraged me to view my past and current self with kinder eyes. She provided very useful tips, exercises, reading material, and book recommendations as well. I’m very grateful for her wonderful help.

Lois is kind and supportive. She provided me with tools to use in my everyday life that have already helped make some meaningful changes. I am an adult that has struggled with ADHD since child hood. My executive disfunction makes staying organized very difficult. In one session with Lois, I had mentioned that I wanted to try to use a program to help me keep my projects organized and help me stay focused on the appropriate task. Days after that session, Lois went above and beyond by sending me an article that highlighted different types of project management software that had benefits for my specific job. It felt great to know that she was truly invested in helping me, regardless of what that help might look like. She is great!

Lois helped me get through my darkest days, when I needed someone, and when I am losing hope to myself. She was a friend that I could hold onto and she was my wonderful therapist that drove me tin fulfilling my path towards the better future.
I just want to say Thank you so much for everything you did for me when I was lost. I am most happy to say that I am ready to end therapy.
I have learned and found so much in myself at the same time and I have achieved what I wamted to achieve in this therapy which is to heal the pain from my past and to find myself by accepting who I really am by digging deeper into my emotions and embracing the transition I am experiencing while growing . I learned how to live with both the pain of loss and the excitement of change. I also learned how to find a resolution without feeling so negative but instead, finding the optimistic way of solving a problem I am encountering.

Lois is the absolute first counselor to make me feel comfortable, heard, and secure. She is an incredible person to vent to, receive advice from, and update in general! No matter what subject matter I feel like sharing, Lois is engaged and supportive. I would recommend Lois to anyone struggling with opening up and wants to feel as though they're talking to someone who genuinely cares about them.
