About me

Hello! My name is Laura Lininger, LCSW. I attended Indiana University and got my BA in Psychology and then moved on to Tulane University in NOLA for my Masters in Social Work. I have worked for many years doing child and adolescent therapy and then later added working with adults to the services I provide. I believe my child and adolescent therapy background has been a great foundation for working with adults who are dealing with childhood trauma or family of origin issues. As for treatment approaches, I use Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. I also include a lot of mindfulness practice in my work with clients. I am proud to provide a safe environment for all races, genders, religions, and clients from the LGBTQ community.

Laura is a wonderful person that listens and genuinely engages. She offers advice, and never pushes on any issues that you aren't ready to tackle

Laura is an extremely good active listener. I am all over the place when I’m explaining things sometimes, and she keeps right up with me. She is also very compassionate, understanding, and kind. Looking forward to more sessions with her.

Laura has been a great therapist the last 3 sessions I've had with her had really helped me. She is easy to talk to , I can honestly say I feel a sense of relief like a weight on my shoulders has gotten lighter. Some issues I didn't really know I had or understand the meanings she has helped me understand them a little bit better. Thank you Laura for all you do. I highly recommend her for any help.

I’ve been working with Laura for a short time and I’m already so grateful for her guidance. She’s really helped me start to recognize and work through some of my people‑pleasing tendencies, which has been something I’ve struggled with for years. Even in just a few sessions, she’s given me practical tools that I’ve been able to implement right away in my daily life.

Laura also uses EMDR, which I really value.
She has a calm, supportive presence that makes me feel comfortable opening up, and I always leave our sessions with something valuable to work on.

I can honestly say that working with Laura has already made a noticeable difference for me, and I’m excited to continue this journey.
