About me

Hi! I know right now you’re most likely nervous about this. You have worked up the nerve to look into it and now you may be thinking “How do I know who to pick?”

Well, I consider myself a little different. I feel my job is to see your vision of your life and what you want to be healthy and happy. To make my goal to help you achieve your goal. I'm always trying to find new ways to de-stress and find some joy in life. So if you would like to travel thru therapy land with a little bit weird therapist who loves travel, spooky adventures, sci-fi, and cooking for the holidays…I’m your gal.

For detail people, I have worked in my field for 18+ years. For about five of those I worked with the military in locations all over the world. I love learning about new cultures and I have an appreciation for the many different ways people view the world. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I practice an eclectic approach. Meaning, it's about you not me. So I will use the best tool (Psychological approach) for your unique situation. When choosing a university to attend, I specifically pursued a program that would provide a more encompassing education in the field of psychology. This more intense training is only available at universities that have passed a battery of qualifications to be given the CACREP accreditation. Considerably more intensive training, but I think you're worth it.

I BELIEVE IN YOU.

She is great. The systems needs improvement. There are many times that getting into the system is not possible. The system does not let my counselor see that I am available, or vice versa.

Lorrie is a very friendly and understanding counselor. She has made these sessions so welcoming and I found that it was very easy to open up and talk to her. She has been very helpful and has help me a lot with my problems.

Lorrie has been very helpful.
Her approach is friendly and warm, which helps you speak freely. She helps point out connections that you wouldn't have entertained and is good at explaining them.

I worked with Lorrie for a year, and she helped me so much. She really got to know me, and I made quite a connection with her. She met my where I was on everything, and she knew when to tell a story or joke related to what we were talking about to give me some extra time to process and absorb. She's not really one for text messaging, but our weekly calls had great value to me and she was there for me if I had a tough day, or was triggered hard, and didn't have any support around me. There was one time in particular where I messaged her that I was really scared and overwhelmed, and she messaged me right back and supported me through the whole thing.

I have trouble finding therapist I can work with or connect with, both because of the broad and wild variety of traumas I have experienced and because my partner and I are non-binary and not everyone respects or is comfortable with that.

She helped me with the big PTSD stuff, and she helped my handle the bumps life threw my way. She has been my rock and I appreciate her so much. Best therapist, best support, I have ever had.

The reason I'm using the past tense is because she has gotten me to the point where I am ready to face everything head-on in more intensive therapies that can only be done in person. But if I could, I would be doing those with her too.

Lorrie is incredibly competent, and deeply kind. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to feel supported and understood, at any level of their journey.

Lorrie makes it easy to share what I am going through by giving me "permission" to Journal as much as I want. This helps me get out what is going on with me but also to give Lorrie more info about how I process things that are going on. It has made our weekly session more beneficial since I don't have to go over all that I have Journal-ed all week. I like the approach she takes to tailor services to me. I really feel like she is getting to know me so she can help me better. I trust her.
