About me

Hello. My name is Louis Huddleston. I have worked in the counseling field since 2011. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults on a wide range of mental health issues. These issues include depression, anxiety, personality disorders and psychotic disorders. I began in the counseling field working with incarcerated adult males. Shortly after, I transitioned to working with children and adolescents in the public school system.

I graduated from Liberty University in 2016 with a masters in Professional Counseling. After extensive training, I became licensed as a Professional Counselor in 2019 through the Virginia Department of Health Professions. I currently hold my license as an LPC in the state of Virginia.

I like to take an integrative approach to my therapy. Utilizing both behavior and cognitive therapies, allow me to meet my client where they are and assist them with where they want to be. I like to empower my client's to make the best decision for them. If you need help, or just a listening ear, feel free to reach out to me.

Louis has been a great listener and thoughtful advisor. I had read other reviews about him before we met and they were all positive and have proven to be true. I was very lucky to be matched with him right off the bat.

Louis has a straight forward approach in his conversation that I found very helpful. He was validating while also steering me or challenging me to think differently. I didn't feel the need to sugarcoat anything, and I think his experience working within the prison system made me feel comfortable disclosing things about myself and family. Thank you!

What I love most about Louis is that he listens to what I have to say and then offers appropriate guidance. He offers me opportunities to ask questions and he challenges me to reshape my negative thinking. We've only interacted a few times, but so far he's helped immensely!
