About me

The world is a very scary place these days and I commend you for reaching out seeking support. Our new norm is evolving. We are practicing social distancing, frequent hand washing, wearing masks, not being able to celebrate birthdays, wedding, graduations, and other milestones as we normally do.

It is so important now more than ever to take care of your mental health. There is little we can control, but we can learn to control our emotions, thoughts, and feelings. It feels good to feel good. I am here to help you learn new coping mechanism, reinforce the ones you already know, and help you learn how to deal with the loss. Whether the loss of a loved one, loss of your patients, loss of what we use to take for granted, loss of anything.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Louisiana with more than six years of experience as a psychotherapist working with adults primarily with older adults and their families. Although, my focus is adults in my 10 years of experience of being a social worker, I have also worked with children as young as five helping them improve their focus and control their anger.

One of my favorite roles has been a Hospice social worker. I specialize in grief, death, and dying, and learning how to coping after losing a loved one. I have developed interventions for my nurse coworkers on compassion fatigue.

Many people, perhaps yourself, are juggling working from home, worrying about parents, homeschooling kids, and feeling stuck and not taking the needed self care you need to recharge.

Taking charge of your mental health is the best thing you can do to feel less stuck. Feel proud of signing up for BetterHelp! When you feel happy and safe, it regulates your blood pressure and oxygen. Now more than ever, it is so important to take care of your mental health.

I am here to support you to navigate this new “normal.” I can provide interventions that make sense for you rather than one size fits all approach. I believe in helping you build a toolbox of concrete tools and skills that you can draw from moving forward—in helping you equip yourself to meet not only the challenges you’re facing now, but also leaving you better prepared to manage future challenges as they come. I'm here to support you as we explore ways to help you meet your goals and live your best life!

Louisa is a wonderful counselor. Joyful and friendly, yet very professional in her approach. She created a comfortable environment from the very beginning and can make the most difficult struggles feel less overwhelming with the way she helps you understand, embrace and resolve problems.

I would have absolutely no hesitations recommending Louisa. Our sessions have been incredibly helpful and I feel I've made so progress in relatively a short time period. I now have a far more balanced and healthy perspective that enables me to better deal with challenges and causes for anxiety. My self-esteem is much improved and I feel really proud of the progress I've made. Right now, I feel far more confident and equipped to take on the world, though should I feel the need to have therapy again in the future, I will certainly reach out to Louisa!
