I'm a licensed clinical social worker, practicing in Indiana with experience helping people living with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders and adjusting to new circumstances in their lives. I have an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, and a Masters in Social Work from Indiana University. I believe that each client is the expert in their own experience of the world. I believe that my role is to help each client identify the areas they'd like to improve and then through reflective listening, make sure that I'm understanding it accurately. Whether a person is experiencing difficulty personally or in relationships, I believe that the treatment approach needs to match the client. I like to use a very eclectic style of therapy. Some clients prefer a Cognitive Behavioral approach, others a more existential approach. I believe that components of Motivational Interviewing are useful in most every therapy session. One strength I believe I embody is accepting, non-judgmentally, whatever the client is experiencing. I know it take courage to ask for help and be willing to examine our beliefs about ourselves and analyze our strengths and weaknesses. If you feel, based on my description, that I could be helpful to you, please don't hesitate to contact me.
