Dr. Lyanna Diaz, Psychologist
About me
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in South Dakota with 5 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and PTSD/trauma. I have also helped many people who have experienced emotional & sexual abuse.
My counseling style is warm and supportive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and interpersonal counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
You may find it helpful to know that I have experience being the client in a counseling relationship so I know the worry about finding a good fit. I am a person who needs to know I can say anything to my therapist and not feel judged. I need to feel understood, validated, and able to be myself. If this is the kind of relationship you would like to have with your therapist too, then I think we will be a good match.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

She is very supportive and it feels like I have a friend to talk to but a friend I can tell anything to and won’t have any judgements over the things I tell her. I love it since I started with her.

Very knowledgeable and professional, but also very approachable. I feel like she makes things make sense when my thinking is shrouded and caught up in worry.
