I have a doctorate in counseling and am a licensed professional counselor in Missouri with over 10 years of experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy and sexual concerns, addiction, and trauma-related experiences.
My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My therapeutic style is person-centered, emotion-focused, and combines cognitive-behavioral and humanistic approaches. I also believe attachment style exploration is an important part of therapy. I am a believer in meeting the client where they are and tailoring our dialog and treatment plan to meet each client's unique and specific needs. I can take a solution-focused approach or a more traditional approach to therapy depending on the client's personal needs and individual therapeutic goals, which we can explore together.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Lynette Dixon. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. Dixon is amazing. She's warm, engaging, empathetic, and supportive. She's "radically accepting" of me, who I am, my emotions, and my deepest desires, while challenging me on my false assumptions, faulty logic, and lack of belief in myself. She also challenges me to overcome the obstacles preventing me from living my best life - and helping me understand that it's not only possible, but that it's valid pursuit and, most importantly, that I'm worth having it. I highly recommend Dr. Dixon.

First- I answered a question wrong- I meant to say “completely agree” to Dr Dixon’s timeliness.
Second- we’ve only had a few sessions but I can already tell that her style is working really well for me. She’s reflective and supportive. Her questions are directed to encourage my thought process. I have felt judged or pushed in a way that’s outside my comfort level. I’m happy to have found her and excited to continue to work with her.

Dr. Dixon has helped me become more in tune with myself by helping me learn to pay attention to how I am feeling, before it is an issue. I still have a long way to go, but I appreciate the help she has provided.
