About Me
I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Texas with over 5 years of experience working as a therapist. I have worked with clients with a variety of concerns, but usually focusing on trauma and past experiences. Although the presenting concern might be anxiety and depression, I believe that anxiety is related to the future, and depression is about the past. If you tackle either the past or the future, the concerns subside. The majority of my profession has been working with adolescents and families.
My counseling style is based on my belief that while you are the expert of your life, everyone needs some support sometimes. There is always an explanation that might alleviate a lot of the stress you might be experiencing. Our dialogue will be focused on your goals for yourself, with a gentle nudge when you maybe are not working to achieve the goals we have set.
Therapy is still so stigmatized, so it is a truly wonderful thing that you have reached out to take care of your overall health! I would love to walk beside you as you embark on that journey.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Mackenzie Balderaz. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Mackenzie is amazing to work with. She helped me work through some long-standing issues and she gave me the tools I need to become the person I want to be. I would definitely work with her again.
So cool, and open minded! Challenges you but does a great job of understanding who you are and why you think that way!!
I have been dealing with quite a slew of issues, but after working with Mackenzie, I feel significantly more able to go forward in my life with effective strategies that match my abilities and goals. Mackenzie guided me toward establishing healthier boundaries, being more self-reflective, relying on both emotions and logic when confronting issues, and finding concrete ways to alleviate stress and anger at issues outside of my control. She is an incredibly skilled and valuable resource.
Mackenzie has transformed my Monday nights. I look forward to discussing everything with her. I feel understood, I feel heard, I feel respected, and I feel confident confiding things with her. She challenges me. She supports me. She builds my confidence. With her guidance, I know my feelings are valid and that I will be ok. She keeps track of my progress. Thank you Mackenzie!
MacKenzie has been an excellent supporter and listener from our very first session. When life was getting really chaotic for me she kept checking in and letting me know she was there. She's exactly what I've needed in a counselor.
Mackenzie is awesome! She was willing to work with my schedule and always offered great feedback. I highly recommend her!
Mackenzie is very good!
She’s awesome! Ever since the beginning, she has just been so positive and understanding. She makes me feel not alone and actually helps to keep me calm.
I feel like I was paired very well. I feel very comfortable and open. The conversation is easy and I don’t feel judged. I like the fact that we chat so frequently and I don’t feel like I’m bothering her.
