About me

Hello! I want to first start by saying GREAT JOB on reaching out for help. The first step can be the hardest and you just killed it.

Now that you are here let me ask you a few questions. Have you ever felt lost, or lonely? Or, maybe your zest for life isn't just quite what it used to be? Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed by the challenges you are presently facing? Or, maybe you have always just worried about everything and now it's just out of control? Do you feel disorganized and have a hard time focusing which is now causing problems in other areas of your life?

I can help.

I am Mackenzie Lewis and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina. I graduated from East Carolina University in 2009 with a Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Personally, I like to refer to myself as a Relationship Therapist as I see problems as being an issue between two systems, instead of as within one system or the other. While a large part of my experience has been working with families to strengthen bonds and couples to develop a deeper understanding and connection for each other, I have spent a great deal of time working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, stress management, communication, forgiveness, and disorganization in life. Using a combination of Strengths-Based and Solution Focused Techniques, I have been able to help many clients achieve their goals and go on to live a more fulfilling life. I see our work together as a collaboration, where I am simply a flashlight to help you find your own way to your goal. Your needs and goals dictate the path we take to a better life. I look forward to our work together!

Mackenzie Lewis has been very helpful as I have gone through the stressful process of transitioning into medical school during a pandemic. She helped me to rethink how I approach things and gave me some powerful pieces of advice that have helped tremendously.

Mackenzie has been extremely understanding, helpful, and overall a wonderful person. She has a compassionate but very realistic approach and gives valuable suggestions to help work through whatever it is someone is facing. She creates a safe environment, and makes personal relations to make the experience even more comfortable.

I haven’t been signed up to this app for very long, but I feel like I was matched very well with someone who is incredibly equipped to help me deal with the issues that I am trying to address. Mackenzie has always responded to me in a timely manner with very helpful and healthy points of view. I always feel listened to, and I have yet to feel judged for anything that I’ve shared with her. I should note, she is also my first counselor and I was very nervous that I was going to “do therapy wrong” and she made me feel so comfortable, especially after our first video session. Would definitely recommend both Mackenzie and this app to anyone looking to take care of their mental health.
