About me

I have been a counselor for over 28 years and am honored to have been able to assist others during periods of personal growth and challenge. As a strength-based clinician, I foster resilience, courage, and fortitude within clients. I believe life entails a vast continuum of experiences – some joyful and others difficult. I am here for support as you traverse your life experiences.

I use a plethora of tools to assist clients. These interventions include dialectical behavioral techniques, cognitive-behavioral interventions, and mindfulness activities. I help clients integrate past traumatic experiences as well as learn skills to decrease depression and anxiety, increase self-confidence, and grow personally.

I enjoy supporting others and look forward to the opportunity to assist you!

I have been with Dr. tormoen for over a month now dealing with a family loss and massive life changes. I have had a few therapists before but she takes the cake absolutely! I appreciate a doctor that listens but also gives input at the right moment and she has mastered this. She is very communicative and also sends worksheets and reflections from our sessions. I feel extremely supported and like I have been given new tools each week to work forward in my life. Extremely grateful for her care.

Going through some of the most tumultuous times of my life, Dr. Tormoen was a calming and steady presence. I am now in a much better place in every way, and she gets a lot of credit for helping me get here.
