Maddie Bishop

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas with 7 years experience. I enjoy working with all clients including individuals, couples, and families. My experience includes working in various settings such as an employee assistance program, domestic violence shelter, and a college counseling center. As an LMFT, I work from a systemic lens, meaning the various areas of our lives and the people in them all have a part in how we think, act, and feel. These areas and people all influence each other and I aid clients in finding peace and calm. I have assisted clients with multiple mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress management, and life adjustment concerns. When working with couples and families, I focus on the whole system at hand to aid each person in communicating more effectively and creating a more intimate and connected relationship.

I approach each client as they are the expert of their own lives. Each person has a unique story to tell and I am there to help them tell it. I truly believe in helping people learn in listening to their own voice and speaking their truth. I also utilize each client's own strengths to help them find solutions for their concerns. The most important part of the therapy experience is the therapeauitc relationship between the client and therapist. My approach is non-judgmental, compassionate, humorous, and supportive. My role is to be a mirror for my clients and help them in making positive and wanted changes in their lives.

She's one of the best I've met to help me, I really appreciate how she listens and shows me other ways to handle my issues and emotions. I've come a long way and I am a lot calmer and comfortable with myself. Thank you Maddie

Maddie is very easy to talk to and I was comfortable with her as my therapist immediately. She will message every few days to make sure I am doing okay and our video sessions have been very helpful even with just the few that we have had so far. I was nervous with starting counseling and Maddie has made the process comfortable and less intimidating. I am looking forward to working with her.
