Hi! My Name is Magan Mangold. I am an LPC Supervisor issued by the state of Texas and I have an M.A. in counseling. I have 10 years of experience working in the mental health realm. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, family conflicts, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, social behavior, and crisis counseling. I have previously worked in the inpatient psychiatric setting, crisis intervention, and family based services.
I am experienced in many counseling techniques and find myself to have an open minded compassionate approach. My counseling style and approach is Holistic/Integrative although I tend to lean towards a solution focused direction. The first few sessions start out with a person-centered therapy approach. It is important to establish a trusting and therapeutic relationship by form of congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathy in the beginning. Sometimes a person-centered approach leads the client to discover the answers for themselves. However, the information collected in the first few sessions may lead to a better suited theory as sessions continue. I feel that issues like depression or anxiety can be helped with cognitive behavioral therapy. I have a strong trauma informed care background and utilize the approach from Trust Based Relational Intervention when working with individuals with past trauma history and with children from hard places. My counseling style and approach really depends on the client and what best fits the situation. Person-centered therapy, CBT, and trauma informed care have been my main approach and style.

She does a fantastic job at keeping in touch with me, even if i forget to check she still asks and checks as well as listens to things i tell her, even gave me some great solutions to use.
Magan is great. She listens offering suggestions and perspective but doesn't judge she follows up and I feel I can really trust her. Having such convenient options to connect is great. This has been very beneficial for me.
I was nervous to start counseling, but Magan makes it to where you feel like you're speaking to a friend all while maintaining professionalism. She's made me realize this journey doesn't have to be as complicated as I once thought it had to be. Can't wait to see what things I can accomplish with her help.

This is my first experience with counseling, but Magan has made me feel completely comfortable and at ease with this experience. I appreciate how she affirms and validates my struggles, but more importantly she offers practical and useful ways to cope with my stress. She is very kind, and I felt like we were able to connect right away!
I have not once felt uncomfortable sharing with Magan or become confused by her response. I appreciate just that in itself! I'm hoping to become deeper over time but I don't want to rush anything or the process. :)

Magan has been great in listening to my problems. There's so many that we haven't quite gotten into the part where we really learn to fix the problems but I have no doubt that she will be amazing at helping me through it.
