About Me

Today, teens are facing many issues that no previous generation has experienced due to technological advances. Due to the high use of technology along with other social issues, many teenagers struggle through this life phase due to lack of coping skills. In working with teenagers, I have learned that issues vary from depression, bullying, sexual activity to drug use, academic problems and social media to name a few. My background and experience working in the public school system as a counselor has equipped me to provide them with the coping skills they need to navigate these challenges they may encounter. My goal is to educate and guide them through these issues so that they will make informed decisions in life.

I am a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 8 years of experience working as a therapist/counselor and mentor. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, substance abuse problems, and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

I believe that in order to navigate life issues, you need the tools to tackle life challenges. I care about your optimum mental and emotional health. My therapy style is warm and interactive and open-minded. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic. rational-emotive therapy and motivational interviewing. Your treatment will be tailored to your specific needs so that you can accomplish your goals or resolve your concerns.

I know that change can be difficult for many of us. However, I believe that everyone has the ability to foster a meaningful and happy life. It takes courage and support to take those necessary steps. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I am extremely pleased so far with my experience of having Malisha as my therapist. She has been very helpful to me as part of my healing process from past emotional trauma and physical abuse. She has given me practical advice on how to have healthier relationships with family and friends. I highly recommend Malisha to anyone who wants a mental health check up or really needs emotional and mental healing. As a Christian, I also truly admire the Godly perspective she brings into each session, which is something I really wanted when I was searching for a therapist. Thank you Better Health for pairing me up with a great counselor!

Work with me!
