Hello! I am happy that you are here. Counseling is a great first step to help making life changes. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. I have over 10 years of experience working with individuals of all ages. I have provided therapy for a wide range of issues including treating Depression, Anxiety, family and parenting difficulties, stress management and addressing life changes. I have extensive experience in the treatment of trauma including all forms of abuse.
Sometimes people come to therapy and aren't quite sure what steps they would like to take to make changes. That's ok! My goal is to help you identify the changes that need to be made and how to implement strategies to achieve those necessary changes. This can include a variety of different methods and I use a trauma-informed eclectic approach in my therapy practice. These approaches can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and include Mindfulness Practices. Our treatment direction will focus on your needs and goals and we will create a plan to best accomplish this.

I’ve just started working with Margaret. However I’ve done therapy before and know better to say that Margaret is extremely responsive, she cares to a point of referring you to another practitioner if you aren’t in the line she specializes, and she has a lot of insight. Margaret is intelligent and attentive. Her warm personality is a must in this career as well.

Working with Margaret has been a pleasure. She has been very thoughtful and patient with me during my therapy journey and never pushing to speed up the the process. Margaret Gibb has been a wonderful counselor.
