Margaret Owens, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois with over 5 years experience providing therapeutic services to diverse populations of individuals, groups, and families. I have worked with clients with a wide variety of presenting concerns including depression, stress and anxiety, ADHD, family conflicts, relationship issues, anger management, and self-esteem. I have also helped many clients work through trauma, abuse, grief and loss.
My therapy style is genuine and integrative. I do not tie myself to a singular therapeutic method, but rather work to blend elements from different approaches in order to tailor each client’s treatment based on specific needs. Using various talk therapy methods such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, and mindfulness techniques, I strive to help each individual feel comfortable and understood.
If you are ready to make some positive changes in your life, I am here to support you along the way. Look forward to working with you!

This is my first experience being in therapy and I was extremely nervous about speaking to someone I didn't know about my personal issues when I barely talk to those closest to me about them. Margaret was extremely easy to talk to, and she made me feel at ease right from the start. I immediately felt comfortable talking to her and I opened up much faster than I anticipated. After each session I am able to reflect on insight and progress made, as well create goals for the future. Margaret is a wonderful therapist that has a calming approach that makes me feel like everything will be ok. I am very grateful to have been matched with Margaret and I am excited to continue working with her.

I always feel heard and supported, and occasionally challenged. Margaret retains detail and nuance, and asks powerful questions.
