About me

Hi, there! I am a solution focused Licensed Professional Counselor with 25 years of counseling experience, working with individuals, families, and groups, including children, teenagers, and adults. I have assisted clients with a wide range of issues related to domestic violence and sexual abuse, child abuse, mental illness, trauma, addiction, anger and stress management, family systems, etc. My overall approach with clients is eclectic, positive, and optimistic.

A fundamental first step in our collaboration is development of a trusting relationship through open and honest communication. Toward that effort, you can expect establishment of a safe environment, my hearing not only what you say but to convey understanding, without judgment, of what it means to you and how your life is impacted. Together, let’s figure out what is working in your life and what isn’t, using your strengths to counter your shortcomings to improve your ability to enjoy a healthy lifestyle, boundaries, and relationships, in achieving your goals, and to experience improved self esteem and confidence.

Therapy is not always pretty but it is amazing how finally sharing can lighten the load. Those places you may have essentially avoided by going over, under, and around to no avail are often only resolved by slogging through them. And you might find it surprising how we can share big laughs that often come with honesty. People are really humorous!

If you are reading this, you are obviously struggling with something. Whether you contact me or another provider, go ahead, take a chance, and reach out. Today could be the day you start feeling better.

Margie is absolutely amazing. Very down to earth, I dont feel judged by her at all. She listens to what I've got on my mind and ask questions that really make me think about the situation I'm in and to look at it from different perspectives. Would definitely recommend her.
