I am a licensed professional clinical counselor and have been working in the mental health field since 2013. My clinical experience includes depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, self-love, trauma, and women's issues. I believe that every client has the tools required to make helpful and meaningful change in their lives. As a therapist, I view myself as a guide and appreciate that you are an expert about all things related to your life and your experiences.
My approach in therapy starts with gaining more information about what is bringing you to counseling and what changes you would like to see happen. I pull from multiple therapeutic modalities for a psychodynamic approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Person Center Therapy. We will collaboratively make achievable goals to see change blossom. Together we will work together to challenge unhelpful, difficult thought patterns that we all have experienced.
Therapy is not always easy and can be uncomfortable when change is occurring. Your needs are important and I believe that it is my role to allow you to feel what you are feeling, be present with you, and protect what you need in each moment. Maggie has helped me a lot in just a few sessions. She’s listened intently to what I’ve said, always being patient with me and sympathizing whenever necessary. Her advice has been phenomenal in helping me work through whatever I have going on. She’s understood my needs and always related to me in someway, making me feel comfortable to speak with her. I tried a few counselors on here before Maggie but she’s been the only one I’ve felt comfortable opening up to.
