Thank you for taking the time to reach out.
I want to start by letting you know that due to unprecedented demand, there is a long wait to receive my services. I am receiving more than 30 messages from new potential clients a day. I would love to help everyone. Yet It is impossible to provide quality care at that speed. If you need urgent attention please reach out to contact BetterHelp. You can also use your health insurance, or if you are uninsured your local county services. If this is a psychiatric emergency call 911. If you are feeling unsafe and need to talk or text you can use National Suicide Prevention at 1-800-273-8255 or use Lifeline Chat on suicidepreventionlifeline.org
I appreciate your patience during this time.
I am glad that you are here taking a step towards change. I appreciate the opportunity to introduce myself. I am a licensed clinical social worker with almost twenty years of experience. I graduated from the University of Southern California. I have worked in a wide range of areas. I have helped client’s manage and cope with challenging health and emotional issues, as well as life transitions, substance abuse, and relationship problems. As your counselor, I can help you explore, process, and learn ways to cope with life challenges. I have learned that when people feel alone and confused they need a therapist that will actively listen without passing judgment, and give them a space where they feel safe to share their experiences and reflect on them. I have an eclectic approach. My theoretical foundations are psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive-behavioral. I can teach you techniques to help you cope and work through the feelings that are bringing you to counseling. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you. I would like to learn more about you, so I can understand your current situation, work on setting new goals, and work on reaching them .

You are wonderful Maria. Keep up the great work.
I felt very comfortable with Maria right away so I was able to open up about some painful things I’m going through. She had ideas that should be fairly easy to implement into my recovery and I’m looking forward to trying them out in the coming weeks.
Maria is the absolute best! I was so nervous starting this process but she made it so easy. She makes you feel so comfortable, you feel like you’ve known her for years after one session. She helped me through a really rough spot in my life and gave me the tools needed to get through it (and future ones). She’s so funny and relatable and kind, and knows how to get to the root of what you’re feeling and why. I’ve learned so much about myself in these few months and feel more confident about navigating the world around me. Thank you Maria!
Maria is so relatable and reassuring! I always felt so much better after talking with her and she really helped me learn to separate my worries and cope. She's great at listening and giving advice, but also lightening the mood and making you feel more hopeful! She's great and I'd definitely recommend her!
I've seen many different kinds of therapists throughout my life and I have to say that Maria is one of the best I've come across. Resourceful, adaptive, and honest -- she truly listens and actively works to make sure she can give her very best to you. Definitely recommend!
Maria has been very responsive and helpful. At first I was afraid that this platform would not meet my needs, but after seeing how involved and responsive Maria is, not only are my worries quieted but I am able to receive the help I need.
