About me

Have life’s difficulties and challenges left you feeling exhausted and alone? Are you finding it tiring just to get up and face the day, uncertain of what life may throw at you next? Have you been trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild, just to get knocked down again? Are you feeling a deep level of shame, lack of trust in yourself, your abilities, or even that no one else will understand? If this describes even some of what you are feeling, it is likely that you have experienced a trauma, or life setback, and although it is deeply painful, it makes complete and total sense that you feel the way you do!

The truth is that none of us are immune to life’s challenges, and often what is needed is not a fix, but someone to walk along side of us during those difficult moments, and communicate love and acceptance of us, right where we are at. I believe therapy is the perfect avenue for creating healing relationships with ourselves and others. Often when we are in a place of pain, the messages we send to ourselves, and sometimes even the messages that others send to us may be less than helpful. I’m here to tell you that although it may certainly feel like it, there is nothing wrong with you!

As a therapist, and a human being who shares in the struggles of human experience, it is my goal to be the voice that tells you your ok. The difficulties you may be facing, may not feel, or even be ok, but yet here you are seeking answers, and breathing, though life may have been unkind. I take a gentle approach to healing; for some of us, just the simple act of waking up may feel like a struggle. I seek to bring about positive change, by tuning into your strengths, and thereby beginning a cycle that will allow you to heal in your own time, in your own way, in your own space. I have over 12 years experience working and sharing in the lives of brave individuals facing life’s difficulties, and tough moments. I have over 4 years experience as a masters level mental health therapist, am an experienced DBT therapist, and have worked with people who’ve faced a variety of difficulties, including trauma, hardships, chemical dependency, depressive and anxiety symptoms, and grief, among others. It would be an honor to walk alongside of you and journey with you on whatever road you may be on. Throughout my time helping individuals on their journey, I have learned a great many tools and coping strategies that may make the road you walk less painful and arduous, tools such as mindfulness, acceptance, and distress tolerance, among others. Of course the strategies we use are totally up to you. I look forward to getting to know you and becoming familiar with your goals, and most importantly I look forward to walking with you.
