Hello and Welcome . I am glad that you have decided to seek therapy and enhance your life. I have been providing mental health and substance abuse treatment for 20 years. By utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy I assist my clients with exploration of their thoughts and feelings and how these impact behavior. I encourage my clients to explore their beliefs and world view and identify unhealthy coping skills. The goal is to develop a healthy lifestyle. Together we will explore how you adopted your current lifestyle and what needs you were attempting to fulfill. We will explore your process of change. Through the therapeutic relationship individuals become empowered to create a new life narrative.
I offer individuals the opportunity to self-explore and identify the barriers that are impeding their growth. Many barriers arise due to past experiences and unhealthy self-management skills that may have been developed due to past trauma, ongoing substance abuse and mental health issues. A supportive therapeutic relationship encourages personal growth.
Collaboration, support, and healthy relationship building are key components of my approach to therapy. I work with my clients to identify and process emotions in the here and now. Recovery is a collaborative effort; it cannot be accomplished without encouragement and support.
