I am a licensed therapist in Texas with over 3 years of experience working as a Counselor. I am fully proficient in English and Spanish. I have worked with people with a wide range of concerns including grief, burnout, depression, anxiety, stress, lack of boundaries, relationship issues, career challenges, identity issues, search for meaning, and culture shock. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma, psychological, sexual, and emotional abuse.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, gestalt, person-centered, existential, dialectical behavioral therapy, and Trauma focused cognititive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Marisa Valdez. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
For twelve years I stayed in a toxic relationship thinking I could help a young man. Marisa helped me by talking, listening, sending me “homework”? I’m going to miss our relationship but feel more equipped to truly move on and navigate my new future without him. Marisa

Marisa has been helping me navigate parts of my life I didn't even think of analyzing. She is very personable and her demeanor is calm. She gives many resources outside of what we talk through which help keep therapy consistent in everyday life. I highly recommend Marisa to anyone who needs a safe place to talk about anything without judgment!
