I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC, licensed in Texas; LCMHC, licensed in NC; and online service provider, licensed in FL) and pastoral counselor with over 6 years of experience working in cognitive behavioral therapy. I own and am the Executive Director of Concierge Counseling Services (www.conciergecounselingservice.com). In my private practice, I work with a team of counselors who specialize in various types of counseling. We serve both Christian and non-Christian communities. To book with my private practice, clients can reach out to 214-494-0971 and request more information.
My goal working at BetterHelp is to give back to populations outside of private practice. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, suicide, self harm, childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, and other trauma. I stay very booked between my private practice clients and Better Help clients. PLEASE NOTE: At this time, I am only accepting CHAT clients through Better Help, but this is not a negative. CHAT sessions require a client to write and process emotions through writing. Thus, CHAT sessions can be surprisingly very rewarding, effective, and successful. Please give them a try.
My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client-centered, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.
I cannot wait to meet you!

Maritza has had some great practical advice for me which I have been working on incorporating into my daily life. She really makes me feel listened to and valued and I look forward to our weekly sessions. For the first time in a long time, I have hope that I can work through my issues and improve my life.

Maritza has been incredibly kind and compassionate in my sessions. She is understanding and listens without judgment. She then offers advice and suggestions to help with the things we’ve addressed together that are simple and effective, so they’re not overwhelming to implement. I would absolutely recommend Maritza!

A wonderful therapist who is mindful of your experiences and needs. She is very active on the site when you send messages and provides help/advice that is very helpful for in-between sessions, as well. She has helped me a lot to lock in to the core of some of my issues and quite quickly helped me to find ways to work on them. She's very attenuative to the unique ways you might be perceptive to information/therapy (ie. She quickly was able to recognize without me explicitly stating that I relate in reading books and suggested several helpful ones right away when we started.) She communicates in a natural, light-hearted and positive way that leaves you feel much better after every session and feeling like you have been sharing with a real person who understands. I have been very lucky to find Maritza and I would suggest her as a therapist!

Sometimes you don't figure out all the pieces by yourself; sometimes you need another perspective and I think Maritza Garcia does a great job at explaining how experiences affect us.
