About me

My name is Mark Bigley and I am licensed as a LCSW in the state of Texas. Let me first say that the therapeutic relationship is the most valuable asset in the quest for growth and healing. As we grow in trust with one another and begin to relax into the therapeutic relationship you will begin to discover the person you were created to be. We have all had environmental and normal developmental challenges that we learn to grow through. The tools I have gathered throughout my fifteen years as a licensed therapist and the previous 22 years as a pastoral counselor we explore a menu of choices suited to your needs to assist you in your way to freedom from that which has hindered you.

I have a MA in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling, a MSW from Wayne State University and a Graduate Certificate in Social Work with Couples and Families. My course of study has familiarized me with Family Systems theory and its contributors, psychodynamic counseling and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I found Narrative Therapy to be extremely useful for discovering strengths that people were not aware of to apply to the challenges that face them. I have been trained in EMDR and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) for PTSD and anxiety and other obstacles. Neurolinguistics (NLP) helps to learn ones strength in accessing sensory information and helps us to communicate with others whose sensory processing differs from our own. Solution Focused Therapy helps with problem solving strategies.

I find a holistic approach to be more effective because it involves the mind, body and spirit to be an interrelated whole. My background in Biofield Therapy and Energy Medicine, Clinical Aromatherapy, training as a Yoga Instructor, in the mind-body approach to grief work called, Degriefing for bereaved individuals to offer methods where the past can be integrated to create a stronger more self-reliant person. My nine years working in hospice care as a bereavement counselor has helped me support persons in their grief and offer them ways to work through it.
Last but not least, I remember my grandfather who offered me the gift of a sense of humor. I have found that laughter, when one discovers it within, reconnects us with the joy of life that defies definition.

I look forward to becoming a part of your adventure into your discovery of a new life.

I would definitely recommend Mark to someone who is trying Betterhelp for the first time or even as a returning person. He really understands and truly helps with what you need. He is my second therapist I’ve worked with and I wouldn’t work with anyone else just because of how comfortable and great it is to work with him.

First-time therapy user. I enjoyed systematically identifying my struggles and working through them. Mark goes at your pace. He is open and honest with you. Great guy and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking skilled help. 5 out of 5 starts.
