About me

You’re discouraged that life isn’t measuring up to what you had hoped. You fake it so it seems like you have it all together, but if you’re honest you feel dissatisfied, hopeless, and empty. You feel disconnected from the most important people in your life, and even from yourself. You long for quality connection with others and you’re not even sure what it means to truly feel connected to yourself. If this is you, I’m here to help.

Life is hard and it’s easy to get caught up in life’s busyness, losing sight of what really matters. With the fast pace of life today, it’s easy to exist in a whirlwind of chasing success, seeking relief from pain, and reacting to whatever life throws your way. All too often what we say is important to us and what our lives reflect as important are two different things. This discrepancy may not even be realized, but what is felt is a life characterized by depression, anxiety, conflict, loneliness, and addiction; more so than the peace and fulfillment that is desired. The experiences of distressing feelings like these is likely what brought you here, hoping for help.

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Texas A&M University and graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Counseling. I previously worked at a church guiding college students as they navigated major events and life decisions. I also lived abroad in Greece offering similar services to college students in another culture. This experience not only gave me the benefit of an international perspective on life, but an appreciation for the challenges of adapting to an unfamiliar environment. In both of these contexts, I had the opportunity of working alongside my wife and appreciate the unique challenges of a marriage in ministry. Most recently, I managed a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility giving me invaluable insight into the experiences of individuals struggling with substance abuse and the effects on those who care about them.

I work with men and women who are struggling to find joy and fulfillment in their lives; couples facing perpetual conflict who desire more satisfaction in their relationship; couples preparing for marriage, men who struggle to feel they measure up as a man, including issues around finding purpose and navigating role responsibilities of family, work, and society; and individuals struggling with compulsive behaviors and substance abuse, as well as those who love them.

Helping others overcome difficulty and dissatisfaction is a great joy of mine. I am here to help you navigate the hard stories and gain purpose-driven freedom in your life and relationships.
