Mark Underwood, LMFT
About me
I am specifically looking to serve Christian clients who are both serious about their faith and struggling with either their inner thoughts and feelings or their relationships. I am a Christian Psychotherapist trained in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Behavioral Therapy and want to help you improve your relationship to God and those around you in your life with common sense and effective tools and skills. I have degrees from the Institute For Christian Studies at the University of Texas and Christian Theological Seminary and have been in practice for over twenty years serving both those inside and outside the Church. I would like the opportunity to help make your life work and feel better and would be honored to have the chance to help you. I can promise very comfortable and conversational, not clinical and intellectualized, sessions that will hopefully get you unstuck and back moving productively forward with greater insight and living effectively. again.
I have worked in a variety of settings, including as a Civilian Psychotherapist on military bases, in Japan, Africa and Guam, and am licensed in Texas, Alabama and Indiana,
You can "interview" me by either listening to one of my podcast episodes on YouTube under "The Comfortable Couch" or reading through one of my books on Amazon. I have recently finished publishing "Taming Your Tigers: A Comprehensive Walk-Thru of Consequence Based Discipline" that is a clear and simple guide to improving your experience as a parent and getting better behaviors from your children. I also have "Toxic Words: 20 Things You Should Never Say To Yourself" on Amazon previously, a basic starting guide to learning better self-regulation through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I look forward to hearing from you and am ready to serve you in any way possible to make your faith work and feel better!
