About me

I have a master’s degree in Counseling from University of Central Arkansas (2014) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Alaska and Hawaii. I’m also a certified Supervisor in the state of Alaska and a Nationally Certified Counselor through the NBCC. I first started working with adolescents and their families nearly 30 years ago as a counselor and case manager in a residential co-occurring program. After years and years of experience working in mental health teams to assist youth and their families, I determined that it was time to acquire the education to match. I’ve spent a lifetime refining my skills to support individuals and families.

Most recently I’ve spent nearly 5 years living and working in rural tribal behavioral health in bush Alaska. This time provided me with opportunities to expand my abilities to work with a rich and diverse population spanning all ages, experiences, and needs. It also taught me lessons in humility and how to meet my clients where they are emotionally. While everyone is having rich and nuanced individual life experiences, I’ve been able to draw on shared common experiences to help provide connections and insights that have helped many grow and feel empowered in their own capabilities.

I believe that it’s my job to walk beside you as you search for insights and develop strategies that will serve you immediately and on and on across a lifetime. Our sessions will be focused on growth, planning, and most importantly, ensuring that you are comfortable with the progress toward your identified goals for yourself. While it might not always be easy, I will be there with you along the journey.

I am a strong believer in counseling. I love the possibilities that come from introspection, connection and empathy. Connectivity is the name of the game and I look forward to becoming an advocate for your personal growth.
