About me

Hi my name is Martin Romero, I am a License Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, with extensive training and life experience with Master degrees in education and professional counseling. I have success working with folks who have behavior, addiction, and mental health issues. I approach counseling from a rational, emotive, behavioral therapy (REBT) perspective in that patterns of beliefs/emotions/actions are explored in order to help you understand your incongruencies (conflicts in relationships, inconsistent actions, unpleasant feelings) and develop solutions and choose to change.

I am an addiction specialist with expertise in coordinating recovery support services and helping with behavior modifications. I have success as a family & couple Counselor, and it is a joy of mine to see couples and families reconciled. I am EMDR trained for treatment of trauma and have seen my clients overcome some hurtful past events. I have cultural experience and competency with Native American Indians (First Nation) and African Americans (Black). I have experience in pastoral and Christian counseling. I am experienced, certified and trained in telementalhealth.

I see counseling as a process in which you and I come to understand and trust one another, work together to explore and define present problem or incongruent situations, develop future goals for an improved life and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals and motivating you to choose to change behaviors, emotions, cognitions, and belief systems if necessary. This process is complete when you are congruent (being relational, having appropriate actions, and feeling emotionally healthy) with/in your physical (body), soul (mind, will, & emotions), and spiritual (relational) being. Let me help you become who you would like to be and experience success and healthy relationships. Remember, "Failure is never Final as long as there is Faith and Forgiveness."
