About Me

Anxiety, depression, trauma... most of us experience times in our lives where we are overwhelmed by our circumstances. Whether you're looking to address anxiety and/or depressive issues, increase motivation, want to learn to let go of negative thinking and negative self-talk (we can be so mean to ourselves!), improve relationships or parenting skills, increase confidence or any number of things, you have come to the right place. I've always thought it strange that we take our cars straight to the shop when something is off but we don't do the same for ourselves when faced with difficult times.
I've been in the mental health field since 1990 when I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I returned to graduate school when I was 40 in order to become a mental health therapist and have been practicing for 12 years. I have always been mindful of and humbled by the trust my patients have in me and work to make sure our time together is helpful.
I have worked with people experiencing a variety of issues, including anxiety and depressive symptoms, behavioral disorders, ADHD, chronic pain and long-term illness, victims of violence and sexual assault. My experience includes working with children adolescents, adults and families.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Marty Tanner. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Written by B.R. on Nov 06, 2021 after therapy with Marty for 2 weeks on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues, intimacy-related issues, sleeping disorders, self esteem, and bipolar disorder

I have only had one session with Marty , it being my first therapy session ever.

She made me feel very comfortable and really took her time in understanding my concerns. I feel she understood my goals and guided me in finding solutions that work for me.

I highly recommend to anyone on the fence about therapy and the process to reach out and give Betterhelp and Marty a try. The more casual approach to therapy really makes it easy feel comfortable.

Work with me!
