Hi! My name is Mary Beth Bauerle, and I graduated from Arcadia University with a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a concentration in grief and trauma. I earned my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and have been working in the field for six years. Before my graduate work, I was a Sexual Assault Counselor for the Network of Victim Assistance where I presented violence prevention programs in schools and other community settings. I counsel individuals of all ages.
My goal is to help my clients feel better and experience joy in their lives. First, I work to build a caring and effective relationship based on safety, trust, and rapport.
Maybe you have already tried a few ways to solve your life challenges but still feel stuck. Sometimes I find that individuals are waiting for others in their life to change their behaviors before they can move ahead with their goals. Unfortunately, this rarely happens, and we realize that we need to make the changes that we can control for progress to begin. As a Counselor, I will help you become more aware of your own personal strengths that you can use to solve your problems. I will help you identify your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may keep you feeling stuck. I am also trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) which has been shown to be effective for those who experience problems with emotional stability and impulsiveness. Together we will process your challenges and identify the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are not working for you. Also, I will help you learn and practice new effective coping and communication skills to help you reach your goals. I believe that healthy relationships are often the bedrock of a joyful life – however, relationships can also be the source of great pain. Attending to, repairing, and finding new healthy relationships is an important focus in therapy. If any of this sparks you interest, please contact me. Thank you for your consideration.
