Hello! I am Mary Beth, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida, and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia. I am a National Certified Counselor, a Qualified LMHC Supervisor, a Certified Clinical Military Counselor, a Certified Life Coach, a Board Certified Tele-mental Health Counselor, a Social Investigator, and a Qualified Parenting Coordinator in Florida Circuits 3, 4, and 8. I am proud to be a member of Chi Sigma Iota, an International Academic and Professional Counseling Honor Society. I am a Registered Play Therapist, working with people of all ages, to add interesting and fun personal growth activities to the traditional counseling experience. A lifetime-learner, I am currently enrolled in additional classes to earn certification as a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor. A part of play therapy is sand tray therapy and I am passionate about collecting miniature items or “symbols” to represent all aspects of life. During video sessions, you will see my office and part of my collection. I love to teach other therapists and students about play therapy and sand tray therapy at universities or professional conferences. I have twenty years' experience working with families as a child advocate with the court system and I currently provide social investigations and assist parents and children involved in contentious divorce or visitation issues. Perhaps my toughest and most rewarding experience was seven years’ providing individual and group counseling in a shelter for survivors of domestic violence. My specialties are working with individuals who have symptoms of stress, depression, anxiety, anger, traumatic brain injury, or family issues. You will find that I genuinely like people and I am an excellent listener. My main approaches are Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions-Focused Therapy.
Research supports and I believe that a strong client-counselor relationship is the most important part of the counseling experience. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and helping you achieve your personal goals.

Mary makes you feel comfortable. It’s extremely easy to talk with her, and she doesn’t make you feel judged in any way.
Mary Beth is amazing. She doesn't waste time sorting through what I say to get to the root of the issues. She challenges me, but supports my emotional health too. Mary Beth takes notes while I am talking and refers back to them constantly to make sure we address everything that needs addressing.
She is amazing.
Mary Beth has been very helpful and supportive throughout my recovery path. she helped me rediscover my inner strength to accept myself as I am .
She’s great, very calming and easy to talk with, I usually always enjoy our conversations because even though I maybe dealing with stuff, we don’t focus just on that unless I want to. Theres times I don’t want a session but I still go and at the end; I’m glad I did. Mary Beth lets me talk and rant ,calmly agreeing or guiding me to a better understanding of things and my feelings, with that alone she helps me a lot more than any of my previous therapists.
Mary Beth has been such a huge help. She listens and offers great advice. She is well versed with children and gives insightful knowledge when it comes to families. I am so grateful I found her.
I’ve really enjoyed working with Mary Beth Ridderman. I feel fully supported by her and appreciate her checking in. She is a great listener, very kind, empathetic, and has a great sense of humor. Her feedback has been immensely helpful to me.
Mary is a wonderful person and therapist, she will take care of you. She always reached out to me and always made me feel safe and calm through her messages and calls. She cared about what I did and always advised the best route to cope with something that bothered me. She’s the best therapist I have had sessions with.
Mary Beth was kind and got straight to the cause of my problems. I found her helpful and supportive.
Mary Beth is wonderful at listening to my concerns, and providing a different perspective for me to consider. She is welcoming, understanding, and nonjudgmental. I’m happy to have been matched with her.
She is so warm and compassionate. I feel like a virtual hand is there for me.
Completely unhelpful, and unwilling to even help. Non-responsive in communication.
