About me

I am a licensed clinical social worker, and a professional mental health counselor, graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master’s degree in clinical social work. I have provided individual and family therapy for more than 23 years, and have more than 27 years of experience working alongside people to facilitate positive change in their lives and their communities. I am currently practice focused on supporting adults navigating grief and loss, trauma, anticipatory loss, and life transitions, and corresponding changes in identity and relationships. My style of therapy is informal, compassionate, and responsive to each person’s unique needs.

My goal is to guide you to explore your concerns and build greater understanding of the different aspects of your experience, from the emotional, mental, and physical to the family, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. Using a variety of evidence-based techniques, I will help you re-connect to existing strengths and cultivate additional resources that support progress toward the changes you wish
to make.

As a bilingual, multicultural psychotherapist, I consider cultural humility essential to therapeutic practice, as well as, a nonjudgmental, compassionate approach when treating your emotional needs and helping you manage your symptoms effectively.

Though I've only had perhaps two or three sessions with Mary. I'm content with her level of expertise and couldn't complain about it. It has been nearly four months since I've began BetterHelp therapy, I only had three therapists I've interacted with. She thus far, is a person whom I do feel comfortable with discussing.
