I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Michigan with over 10 years of experience working as a therapist to individuals, couples, and families. I have worked with clients ages 6 and up, with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, trauma, and grief/loss. I received my Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue Calumet, and my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech. I have worked in several different settings, including schools, community clinics, and private practice.
My counseling style is warm and collaborative with a focus on gentle challenges in order to help you achieve your goals. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Additionally, I am an affirmative therapist with extensive experience working with individuals and couples from the LGBTQ+ community. My approach combines several therapeutic models, including narrative therapy, systemic family therapy, emotionally focused couples therapy, cognitive-behavioral (including trauma-focused CBT), and solution focused therapy. I will work with you to create a treatment plan that meets your unique and specific needs.
I believe that life begins outside of your comfort zone. It takes courage to step outside this zone in order to seek a more fulfilling and happier life. If you are ready to take those steps, I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Dr. Nedela is an amazing therapist, who respects my concerns, works with me at my own pace while pushing me to grow. She is extremely understanding, validating and insightful. I could not have asked for a better therapist and am very glad to be working with her.
I adore Dr. Nedela and feel they are quite a wonderful person to work with. They are very understanding and more than willing to reach out to me when I really need it!
She is great with understanding my LGBTQ issues around relationships. I feel very comfortable talking to her i look forward to our weekly sessions. I may cry. But i feel a bit lighter after. Highly recommend.
