Mary Ridenour

About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider in Tennessee with 6 years of experience. I currently work in private practice but have experience working in community mental health settings as well. I work with adolescents and adults ages 18 and older. I have experience working with a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting and relationship issues, adjustment issues, and career issues.

I believe in using a person-centered perspective to help you reach your goals. I whole-heartedly believe that everyone is capable of change and that we all hold the tools that can propel us to our goals. I see my job as helping you find those tools within yourself and guide you in how to use them most effectively. I pull techniques and interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Gestalt approaches. I also pull from my Gottman couples training in all areas of my practice to help strengthen relationships, improve conflict management and build effective communication skills.

Let's face it - life is hard! And sometimes we make it harder on ourselves. My goal is to help each and every client realize their potential and make lasting steps towards happiness. I am excited and honored to help guide and witness you on your adventure.
