I am a New York licensed LMHC with over a decade of experience working with formerly incarcerated, currently incarcerated, and severely mental-ill individuals. I have also worked with addicted and dual-diagnosed patients and hold a New York Credential in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. I do my best to be patient-centered as something that works for one person is not guaranteed to work for someone else and it is the therapist's role to tailor the situation to the person in front of them.
In addition to severely mentally ill and incarcerated individuals, I have been trained in trauma therapy and critical incident response management to help individuals work through previous traumas they experienced with the goal of being able to reduce negative feelings that the patient might experience. I am also married to a first responder and have done field work being an assessor to determine a proper level of services needed. These experiences have helped me develop patient-focused skills on people who experience greater traumas as part of their jobs compared to individuals in the regular population.

Matthew has been very supportive and a great listener during our sessions. He has been completely non judgemental when helping me deal with addiction issues, and offers a fresh perspective that has helped me get through tough times during the the pandemic.
Matthew is wonderfully patient, attentive and kind
Mathew has been fantastic! He always has great advice or offers a different take on situations I have never thought of on my own. I will definitely continue seeing him and also refer his services to others.
Matthew is the kind of therapist who listens intently while being able to form connections that even I didn't fully comprehend. It shifted my perspective while giving me a sense of clarity. He's professional, empathetic, and gets to the deeper truths.
Matthew has been very friendly and professional from the first second, and his questions and pointers are helping me tremendously. I really feel that I can manage anxiety rather than having to fear for it to happen again.
