About Me

Creating a space for self acceptance and validation is a big first step of what I intend to facilitate as a therapist. If you feel something, then it is valid. With these principles as the back drop, we are able to begin the difficult, but worthwhile work of therapy: making the subconscious parts of ourselves more conscious.

From a treatment modality perspective, I utilize CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

I've worked with individuals from a great number of demographics, however most of my work has taken place within the LGBT community. I also have an ample amount of experience in working with clients who experience substance abuse disorders, chronic health conditions, grief/loss, and mood disorders.

I’m here to collaborate with you on ways to improve the quality of your life. I believe that being well is not just about an absence of suffering, but also striving towards a sense of purpose and meaning. I believe my role is about encouraging clients towards these principles.

I believe acclimating to reality is another essential part of therapy and is something we do together. I assist clients in searching for answers within and outside of themselves. Sometimes, this work is about coping with the lack of answers we often face.

I truly enjoy meeting individuals from all walks of life. I recognize that I may not be the best therapist for everyone, but I inquire with each client what they most need out of a therapist and strive to meet that need to the best of my ability. Thank you for reading. I look forward to hearing from you!

He was great! He changed my mind about therapist in general. Earlier this year I met on in person that was trash and just gave her opinion about every word that came out my mouth. Matt listened, and that's all I needed and that pretty amazing.

He listens, and does not interupt you or xut you off, especially if you go on a ramble. He is thorough with his explanations, and makes sure to be on the same page as you and your thought process. He takes his time when asking questions, and let's you take yours when answering.
