Megan Crawford

About Me

Megan is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio with ten years of experience in the social work field and over 16 years in the helping profession. She has a Bachelor's in Social Work from Capital University and a Master's in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I am currently working part-time online at Ashford University as an associate faculty where I teach sociology, as well as working as a therapist with Better Help.

I have worked with clients who have a wide range of concerns including post-traumatic stress disorder, abuse, family conflicts, parenting issues, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and ADHD. I also have worked with many survivors of domestic minor sex trafficking and other early childhood traumas.

My counseling style is very down to earth, personable and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect and dignity. I think counseling is most successful when the client is engaged and has a good relationship with the therapist, and I work hard to build a strong rapport with my clients.

I am very individualistic and adapt my treatment style to the needs of each person I am working with. I do not believe in a one - size - fits all kind of therapy. My approach combines several different treatment modalities. Some of the therapeutic modalities I use are trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems-based approach. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
I am also very strengths-based, which means I believe in using your strengths to make the most of the counseling experience. Your goals for therapy will be important to our work together.

I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.

I have worked with Megan for about 10 months now. She has helped me through family issues, mostly related to adoption. Highly recommend.
