About me

My name is Megan Dreyer! I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor. I have my Bachelors degree in Psychology and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Wright State University in Dayton, OH. Most of my experience is working with clients in a community mental health setting. I work with people of all backgrounds and walks of life. I feel that everyone knows something that I don't, and I find that this line of work helps me to learn more about the world we all live in. I meet all clients where they are, so my modalities of treatment tend to change from person to person. My typical modalities are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally-Focused therapy, Art therapy, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Positive Therapy, Solution-Focused (Brief) Therapy, and Person-Centered therapy. I also tend to take a holistic approach to therapy, realizing that you will feel your best when you are healthy mentally, emotionally, and physically. You should be proud of yourself for being brave enough to take this first step in improving your overall well-being! I am proud of you already! I cannot wait to meet you, and I hope to support you along the way in meeting your goals.

All my appointments are first come, first serve unless you specifically request a consistent therapy schedule.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Megan Dreyer. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

I've been working with Megan the last (almost) 2 years and I don't know if I'd still be here without her. She not only helps me to stay positive, but also reframes negative thoughts, teaches me new coping skills, and honestly just listens to my crazy life in general. Even when I got a new diagnosis she immediately looked into how use different techniques in our sessions. I've never stuck with a therapist as long as I have with Megan and I don't plan on switching anytime soon! I just want to thank you Megan from the bottom of my heart.

I've been with BetterHelp for about 5 years now, seen probably about 10 different therapists in my lifetime and Megan is one of the best, up there with a therapist I saw for 4 years who ended up retiring. Our sessions are so productive that we always end up running out of time, versus other therapists I saw where we'd run out of things to talk about and end the session early. She's great at really listening and offering suggestions based off what you have said rather than giving the usual cookie-cutter advice. And I'm getting to the point of being comfortable enough to share stuff with her that I don't tell anyone else for fear of it being seen as too cringe or whatever, which I feel is a sign of a good therapist. Megan's out here making a real difference so I hope she knows that.

Megan has been nothing but kind, understanding and patient also while challenging me in ways that better my anxiety and overall mental health. Very lucky for her.

Megan is one of the most compassionate, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent people that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She is open minded and doesn’t force any views or religion, like a lot of other therapists.

I always leave our chats better than when I came in. She is great at what she does and has helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. I highly recommend her.
