About Me

Warm Greeting from the beautiful state of New Mexico, where I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor for the last 20 years. My name is Megan Rafferty and I have been enjoying doing counseling for a total of 30 years. I look forward to meeting you.
Is there something in your life you are struggling with ? Is there some part of you that is in pain emotionally? Maybe you would like to learn how to better handle a situation?
Together we can build emotional safety for you to explore and discover what you wish to.
Using a non judgmental, client centered , holistic approach, we can build on your strengths and explore the areas that of interest and concern to you.
Together we can find meaning and depth in what you walking through, and also help you find balance and awareness for your whole being (mind/body/spirit/emotions/behavior). We can approach life's challenges and stay curious to see if there may be any thoughts or emotions that may be holding you back from your potential and your power to positively change your life.
Throughout the years , I have been a counselor/trainer/mediator/professor and worked with adults, teens, children, families, parents, couples, and groups in issues of grief and loss, moving through life changes, stress management, communication, family systems, divorce and separation, marriage therapy, art therapy, parenting, workplace conflict, LGBTQQIP2SAA +, caregiving a loved one, and finding your life's meaning and purpose.
If we stay open minded and attuned to supporting your whole being and your goals, it is amazing what positive internal and external changes may occur.
People make wonderful changes and heal on a really regular basis, and you can too become more of your authentic beautiful self.

Please note: If in the last few months you have been feeling suicidal or having thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself, I would not be able to work with you because I am working part-time only, and availability would be limited. It would be better to chose a counselor who is working full-time for BetterHelp. BetterHelp is not an emergency service, please contact 911 or please call 1-800-273-8285 if feeling like you want to hurt yourself. or others.

Thank you,
Megan Rafferty, M.Ed, LPCC, LMT

Megan is so responsive, intuitive and easy to work with. I have made so much progress in a short time with her because she is honest but never harsh, and asks all the right questions. She is amazing!

Megan has done such an amazing job thus far. It’s my first time ever going to therapy and I was really nervous but she had made the experience great!

Megan is extremely helpful and compassionate. I've had a few therapists before, but she is definitely the best one I've had. Her expertise and interpersonal skills shine through her sessions.

You can choose how you'd like to have sessions and how long they will be (in case you need to jump off early) and she sends helpful notes from the session, optional exercises, and worksheets to complete after!

Megan has been a lifesaver for me. I believe because of her experience and knowledge she is able to help and understand more fully the problems that I am experiencing. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone, she is by far the best Therapist I have ever had.

I appreciate Megan’s kindness and insight. She is responsive, supportive, and has a great ability to give suggestions that are relevant and useful to me without being too much. I also really appreciate the video visits and the flexibility on scheduling.

Megan makes sure I am comfortable and validates my feelings. She also gives me great insight, and helps me explore my feelings to find the “why” which is SO important to me.

I feel lucky that I got matched with Megan. I've only had 2 video sessions so far but she is incredibly intuitive and is able to create a space where I feel seen and valued. She's allowing our therapy space to feel like a very safe and encouraging place while I go through some chaotic life changes. I'm so appreciative for her and Better Help.
