About me

Warm Greeting from the beautiful state of New Mexico, where I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor for the last 20 years. My name is Megan Rafferty and I have been enjoying doing counseling for a total of 30 years. I look forward to meeting you.
Is there something in your life you are struggling with ? Is there some part of you that is in pain emotionally? Maybe you would like to learn how to better handle a situation?
Together we can build emotional safety for you to explore and discover what you wish to.
Using a non judgmental, client centered , holistic approach, we can build on your strengths and explore the areas that of interest and concern to you.
Together we can find meaning and depth in what you walking through, and also help you find balance and awareness for your whole being (mind/body/spirit/emotions/behavior). We can approach life's challenges and stay curious to see if there may be any thoughts or emotions that may be holding you back from your potential and your power to positively change your life.
Throughout the years , I have been a counselor/trainer/mediator/professor and worked with adults, teens, children, families, parents, couples, and groups in issues of grief and loss, moving through life changes, stress management, communication, family systems, divorce and separation, marriage therapy, art therapy, parenting, workplace conflict, LGBTQQIP2SAA +, caregiving a loved one, and finding your life's meaning and purpose.
If we stay open minded and attuned to supporting your whole being and your goals, it is amazing what positive internal and external changes may occur.
People make wonderful changes and heal on a really regular basis, and you can too become more of your authentic beautiful self.

Please note: If in the last few months you have been feeling suicidal or having thoughts of wanting to hurt yourself, I would not be able to work with you because I am working part-time only, and availability would be limited. It would be better to chose a counselor who is working full-time for BetterHelp. BetterHelp is not an emergency service, please contact 911 or 988, or please call 1-800-273-8285 if feeling like you want to hurt yourself. or others. This is not intended for court ordered therapy. And I do not send out any forms or contact any other providers on your behalf because the work you do here is
confidential.

Thank you,
Megan Rafferty, M.Ed, LPCC, LMT

Megan Rafferty has been an indelible conscious actively supportive presence in the healing journey I’ve undergone. At one of the most challenging times of my evolution here, she has held compassionate awareness, consistent solidarity and mapmaking in conscientious grief processing; assisting and anchoring my heart while coming to terms with the myriad layers and levels of self reckoning following deep loss, self evaluation in identity reconditioning and return to sovereignty through it all.

She’s one of the most emphatic and thoughtful listeners I’ve had experience working with. Such an incredible person!

Megan Rafferty is a kind, compassionate, caring human. She listens and has given me the courage to be able to speak in a safe place. She remembers conversations and has been a great person that I trust has my best interest. As someone who would have never thought therapy would work or be an option, she has made a world of difference in my life. Her work, her career, of taking care of people is incredible to say the very least.

I've been working with Megan for over 3 years now. She is the first practitioner that had truly, truly helped me in 20 years of seeking care. She has been the first person to help me advocate for myself where I now have been able to surround myself with care in many different areas of my life. This has helped with family, friendship, health, trusting myself, therefore romance, work. I highly suggest working with Megan. Also hands down brilliant in nervous system regulation for CPTSD.
