Megan Rafferty it’s exactly what I have needed in a therapist. When relating an issue she just listens and when she sees something that is sticking is she politely breaks in and asks me to elaborate on it. That gets far deeper than I have experienced from any previous therapist. She can keep up with my disconnected thinking pattern that some therapists find daunting.
She doesn’t counsel, she digs at the pain until I could heal it.

Megan is patient, kind, and intelligent. I was skeptical about therapy for the longest time, but as soon as I opened up to Megan, I realized how beneficial it is for me. She’s helped me work through a lot of things and I like that in each session, we tackle a different problem. No two sessions are the same for us - which is a good thing. At times she’s been my only source of encouragement and positivity, and I cannot thank her enough for this. I also really appreciate that I can talk to her about absolutely anything, and she has never told me that something is “out of her scope”. I trust her a lot and look forward to working on my personal goals with her help.

Written on Sep 27, 2021 after therapy with Megan for 3 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, sleeping disorders, self esteem, and coping with life changes
Working on my issues and confronting my problems isn’t easy but Megan makes it a worthwhile, valuable, and effective experience. She listens carefully to what I say and gives me techniques to help me cope with and overcome problem thinking. Then it’s up to me to tailor the technique to make it work best for me, and Megan supports that. She is my cheerleader, she is an external brain to help me make sense of my thought processes, and she has a wide array of strategies at the ready when I need something to grasp onto quickly. A small part of me gets a little anxious a couple minutes before therapy is going to start but for the most part I look forward to each session. And I think that the small amount of anxiousness is good because any big goal worth doing usually comes with big challenges and if I’m not passionate about it then I’m not going to have any feelings about it at all and quit. So in this case small anxiety is good and equates to passion for my goal to make myself feel better, relate better, and generally be happier and more satisfied with my life choices. Thank you to Megan for setting me on a good path to a happier and more laughier me.
