Dr. Megan Rhoads

About Me

Sometimes we find ourselves reacting to a situation in a manner that is not like us, then we wonder "Why did I just do that?" I believe you have the answer, and I can help you find it! Through the BetterHelp platform, you and I will work collaboratively to establish a path toward clearly-defined goals. My approach is two-pronged: you will learn and practice practical skills you can use as soon as you walk out the door, and we will also take a close look at how your past experiences shape your longterm self-perceptions, thus influencing your daily decision-making.

Self-exploration in the presence of another can be many things, most of them powerful, all of them pertinent aspects of our path toward wellness. Although my expertise is broader than one-on-one therapy, this area is truly my passion. I have provided therapeutic services in various settings since 2011, by assisting individuals, couples, and families in meeting their goals. My past experience in the field include county mental health, and psychological assessment.

I held 2 main roles during my time in a county mental health setting. First, I aided homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth in recovering from family discord, sudden homelessness, and potential self-harm situations. I later transitioned into adult crisis assessment, where I worked as a part of a mobile team to meet with each individual and recommend, and connect them to, an appropriate level of treatment. As a psychological assistant at the Autism Spectrum Disorders Center at Kaiser Permanente, I conducted a battery of diagnostic assessments for over 150 children and adolescents ages 15 months to 18 years and recommended services based on the findings.

I have over 9 months of experience providing therapeutic services and guidance via an online platform and found that I enjoy using my creativity to enhance the learning and insight experiences via different modalities (journaling, readings, videos, handouts, and more). I am thrilled to be a part of this Better Help team in that I get to bring my genuine care and expertise to those of you who are more comfortable accessing care through this platform. I am honored to be a part of your process!
