My name is Megan Shultz, I am a licensed professional counselor in Missouri. I have been practicing since 2014 working with adults, teens, and children on a variety of issues including: anxiety & stress, trauma, depression, attention disorders, parenting issues, self-harm, and grief.
My style is collaborative and holistic with an emphasis on a warm and trusting client-counselor relationship. I get to know my client's strengths, not just their problems, and this helps me understand what does (and does not) work for each person. My multimodal approach utilizes tools and techniques from Positive Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, as well as a Humanistic & Client-centered therapies.
While I believe that live interaction is important, I am also very excited to utilize the additional therapeutic tools Betterhelp has to offer. Between live sessions I encourage my clients to send messages, complete journal entries & worksheets, and I provide feedback at least once every day Sunday-Thursday.

Megan is an absolute wonder to work with. Never have I had a therapist that was so easy to talk to, and I’ve seen many. Beyond her incredible ability to listen and understand the mindset behind any perspective, she is quick to challenge a thought process that may not be healthy or useful in the current situation. I always feel understood on a deeper level than someone simply hearing my words. Megan knows my weaknesses, strengths, where I’ve been and where I want to go when it comes to my mental health, and I’m making strides to get there that I wouldn’t be able to without her.
