I am a Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC) in Nevada and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, personality disorders, and persistent mental health problems which affect many aspects of one's life. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I have worked in the field of counseling for 4 years now in different backgrounds, with different types of clients and love every experience I have had and want to share my passion and knowledge with you!
Life is hard...life is beautiful... and life can be everything in between. So let's talk about where you are in the present moment and how we can work toward improving your everyday goals. You know, some people say to take life day by day, and while that works for some, I say to take it hour by hour for most clients. Every hour of life we get through without anxiety, depression, fear, and other negative symptoms should be celebrated.
I am a warm, laid-back therapist who does not have a pre-planned agenda for what therapy "should" look like for you - everyone is different and needs therapy to meet their individual needs, first and foremost. What works for some doesn't always work for others. I try to meet you where you are at and go from there. I have a more laid-back approach to allow for a therapeutic relationship to form first. Then when we are at a comfortable level with each other, we can begin to tackle some of the tougher material life presents to us, to all of us. I started counseling with Megan a couple of months after a divorce. I had reached a point where I was losing patience with people quickly for no real reason and was fighting with my ex over things that could not be changed. I had reached a point around Christmas that I knew it was time to talk to someone. I love messaging with Megan because it is like spilling my guts to a friend. She has been supportive and asked questions to make me think through situations more in depth and clearly. I have truly enjoyed having Megan on my side the last 3 months.
I would like to thank Megan for her help. Thank you and you're awesome!
Megan is incredibly responsive, professional and thoughtful with her methods. She will take the time to respond to all concerns and shared information to ensure the proper care is taken to address her clients needs.
Megan has been a godsend to me! Smart, helpful and insightful. She gave me excellent suggestions and sent me several articles that were interesting and helpful. I think she is brilliant and I would highly recommend Megan Strauss!
I came to this program completely lost and broken with no tools to pick up a get better Megan Strauss has in the last 30 days not only giving me hope but given me the tools I need to live healthy and when things get rough I have coping skills to process, solve and overcome thank you Better Help and most of a huge thanks to Megan.
Megan is absolutely wonderful...amazing listener and truly empathetic! She has this awesome way of offering solutions or work plans while also making me feel heard and supported. I feel so much better after talking to her!
I feel like in the short week I've been using Betterhelp and speaking to Megan, I've already made so much progress. Megan is so friendly and enthusiastic and always seems to know what to do!
Megan is great!! She listens to me even if it's just rambling and whining. Or just let's me cry!! Then we think of ways to make even just 1 hour better per day. She helps me make it one day at a time. And if I have a bad day, she helps me try to get over it and move on to the next day. She gives small tasks to accomplish, so she can get to know me better and what is bothering me. It helps me get to know ME again. And not what I think people expect from or of me!!
