Melissa Garner, LMHC
About me
Hello, My name is Melissa. I am a mental health counselor licensed in Florida with five years of experience working as an individual and group therapist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, excessive worry, OCD, crisis, trauma, anger, adjustment difficulties, self-injury, stress management, self-esteem, confidence, mood management, assertiveness, healthy boundaries, parenting skills, behavior modification, basic life functioning skills, and general well being.
My passion is to help others discover their strengths, overcome obstacles, and restore motivation. While working together, you will receive a listening ear, ready to understand and listen; a safe place, free from judgment and criticism; and individualized guidance and support, tailored to your specific needs. You can expect warmth, professionalism, and initiative as we work together to develop strategies to meet your goals at a pace that meets your needs.
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive counseling.
It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Melissa Garner. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Melissa always provides encouragement and tailors my experience to my needs. She sends me articles to spark discussion and provide food for thought. She asks me to unpack powerful statements to better understand their roots. She is overall prompt in responding to my messages and respectful of the time I want to spend on the phone chatting versus online chat. As I read articles or hear my own self-talk, I look forward to writing to her to receive her feedback and guidance. Thank you, Melissa!
