Melanie Burkholder, LPCC
About me
The majority of my therapeutic background focused on Crisis-Intervention; working with “at-risk” children, youth and their families to prevent entrance into State custody. I have extensive experience with intensive in-home family therapy addressing issues such as domestic violence, sexual and physical abuse, behavior modification, parenting skills, psychotic, anxiety and mood disorders, and alcohol and drug addiction. I have recently enjoyed working with the geriatric population addressing issues of grief, loss and aging as well as people of all ages who are experiencing lifestyle changes including relocating, changing jobs or changes to physical health. I always intend to positively effect change through active listening, empathic understanding and behavior modification, thus, giving clients the tools needed for a successful transition from their current state to a more comfortable and higher level of functioning. I will meet you where you are and provide a warm and friendly experience.
